SUPPLYING COPIES ACCORDING TO best practice guidelines.

Quality - The ILRS Code recommends supplying the best copy possible, in accordance with efficient work processes and to notify the requesting library if a quality copy is not available. For copies scanned or photocopied this means eliminating as much of the black edge as possible to reduce printing costs. Tips and tricks: make up 'L' shapped templates to elimate borders or use the advanced settings on scanners/photocopiers to crop the image.

Delivery methods - The ILRS Code recommends Fax, Ariel, other electronic delivery, or e-mail attachment as the prefered options for delivering documents particularly for Rush and Express requests. Mail is also an option but is slower.

E-Delivery formats - there is no national standard for delivery formats however the default delivery format for ariel is TIFF. PDF is generally available to be sent by email.
